look in the parts catalog, it will tell you, or even in the manual i bet.

I assume Ducati put that flapper valve there for a reason, but what does it do?

The exhaust flapper-gate is there to give the under-seat servo motor something to do  Grin.

Back to the plug. I'd like to use the Ducati charger because I don't have to tear the bike down to add the battery charge plug....  DNA says it will work....

that still kinda freaks me out because for sure that is the locatio of the DDA on mine.

you really need to check your manual.

that email will be worth nothing if the bikes fries the computer when you plug that in there and they aren't right

Manual says there is a plug, and that is the location the email stated... Manual is non-specific after that.  Maybe I will buy the charger at the dealer an let them hook it up the first time.

I'm liking that idea.

I've got a 2010 1100S and these are the three connectors located under the seat in the tool area:

I believe the small red one (with two holes) is for the new battery charger.  The yellow one is for the DDA.  And I have no idea what the red one with three holes is for.  (None of these are for the flapper solenoid)

i heard the newer (2010) models recieved this in an effort to help with possible battery life.  The abs system has more draw than the non-abs, so to ensure better starting/performance/life they include the jack hoping you'll buy the charger and use it.

Easier to put it on every one of them, than to only do the abs bike
