Quote from: DucNaked on June 29, 2010, 01:05:28 PMThe stock fits a little better on the rear cowl. you can see the gap with the comfort seat.
The one thing I forgot to mention, is that the main part of the seat
absorbs water like a sponge. It takes a long time to dry out.

Great comparison pics, thx.  The gap isnt that bad, I was expecting it to be across the entire seat not but the 2 edges, no biggy.  Low seat looks great!

Ever consider scotchguarding (or some other protector/water repellent) the seat to deal with the water absorption.

Chris, to answer your question, yes you put the bolt and spacer on when the cover is not on. there is a stock black plastic spacer for this when not using the cowl.

Chris,desmoworld

What exhaust is that?  Are you using a 696 midpipe or aftermarket headers?   [beer] for having an 1100 w/ABS like me  [thumbsup]

Anyone considering the low seat should also know that the base of the seat feels wider than stock.  The stock seat is tapered at the sides, the low seat does not taper at all which makes it feel wider.  With the low seat, theres a noticable (to me anyway) rub on the inner thigh and no real difference standing over the bike probably due to the wider stance.  20mm drop appears to be mostly from the centre of the seat.

In any case it looks great...Im even considering leaving the seat cowl off.   The materials feel great and the main part of the seat is super grippy.  Best of all the boys aren't crammed anymore  [thumbsup]

I can confirm that the low seat soaks up water like a sponge (main seat part).  No water resistance at all but dries pretty quickly if you use a towel to press out some of the water.  Gave it 2 coats of Scotchgard Auto which didnt change the color (maybe slightly darker) or texture of the material.  Helps repel water but I doubt it can withstand a heavy soaking.

Another benefit of the lower seating position I found was much less pressure on the wrists.   [thumbsup]
