It seemed as if everything was fighting me on this one.  bang head

1) Needed f'n coffin spacers, so I had to steal them off of the other bike, and no one has them in stock.
2) The angle of both switches were off, so I had to cut the nubs and re-install.
3) The brake lines look all wacky.
4) The f'n clutch banjo is in the way of the fast idle cable.
5) Had to flip the throttle housing (and cut the nub) because the cable was interfering with the brake master.
6) The dealer sold me the wrong fender clip, and I didn't notice till I went to install it.
7) And so on, and so on, and so on,...

And, that was just mocking it up...  Undecided

Maybe I shouldn't of even bothered:

Nice. I want 999 masters for my S2R. They are ridiculously expensive however, and from your experience apparently a difficult swap. But they do look the business.

The first thing you should always do on a project like this is look at the differences in design and plan for what is going to change. The first thing was the brake lines. The way they are mounted on the coffin style masters are completely different. When I did the same mod on my old M900 I ordered custom Spiegler lines so not to have the problems you had. You could have also removed the reservoirs from the masters and used remote ones. That would have solved the problem of having to use spacers.
Second, cutting off the nubs probably wasn't the best idea. You can mock up the whole thing first and then drill new holes for the nubs. Additionally, you could have swapped out the throttle housing for one from a 999 to insure it would have worked properly. I used my stock one on my S2R but I had to play with the mounting location for a while before I got it right.
It looks great though and I'm sure you will enjoy the performance of the better brakes. If you really want to step up without braking the bank, source some 999 calipers.  waytogo

Looks great.

Going to remote resi kinda defeats the reason of using 999 masters in the first place (IMHO)

Good to know the 999 housing will work too Smiley

The whole reason I went with the **9 masters is because of the reservoir style.
Drilling more holes wasn't an option unless I got new bars.  I already drilled them for the last set up (S2R1K), and new holes for the switches would of overlapped.
The lines are from a **9. I wanted to get a baseline set-up before ordering custom brake lines.  They are on the list though.
As for the calipers...

The cross over line clip has been installed, but not pictured.

Now I need new levers again.  The stockers always feel sloppy to me.

at least you have a stacked line setup,
i have a 999 master still using the T stainless lines, its a total clustermake the beast with two backs beneath the triple

the most bad ass thing in the entire world is the bleed screw inside the reservoir, holy cow that is awesome

did you bend the **9 line fittings for the line that goes over the wheel?
and does your fender clear the double banjo bolt?

Didn't do anything to the line other than install it.  No issue with the fender-banjo bolt, it's a 1098 fender, not even close at all.

fyi, a 999 housing doesn't "work", or even come close.  999's use a push pull cable, the s*r (at least my s4r) uses a single cable.  Perhaps it would work with a custom cable setup, and motion pro can usually do something like that.

I'm sure in this instance there are plenty of other throttle housings that would work with a custom cable...

Jeez. Now this to deal with. Why are 999s so oddball is what I'd like to know. Monstermash - do you have a photo of how you oriented your stock throttle cable housing? I know you probably don't have that bike anymore. Was it sano or did it look kinda wierd? Cable going over the switchgear may bug me a little.
