I will be in ABQ from 7/12 til 7/15 to look into what all this hype is about over this thing you call The Crest.

Who doesn't have a job, and can play tour guide for a day?  [moto]

Making a point to be there on a Tuesday night, as well.  drink

I might be persuaded to play tour guide for a small fee.   drink  Unlike Stuart, I have some vacation time accrued!  Besides...who'd want to work with him all week...not me, for sure!   Wink

here's the self-guided tour.

once you've found yourself in the Land of Entrapment, take I-40 East from Albuquerque.

In Tijeras, take Highway 14 North.

After about 2 1/2 miles, Coffee at Dawn will be on your left.

Stop there, have some java, maybe a pastry.

Another motorcyclist is sure to stop there.

Ask said motorcyclist to take you up to the Crest.

In the unlikely event that no other motorcyclist shows up, head about 3 more miles North on Highway 14. Sandia Crest Road (NM 536) will be on your left  (there will also be plenty of signs).  Turn left and head up the hill.

Rinse.

Repeat.

The above is not far from the truth for the very local roads, but there's a LOT of great, great stuff 1-2 hours outside of town!

I have absolutely nothing to add to this thread except to state the fact that the title sounds eerily like something Steve Jobs does to unsuspecting iGroupies when he takes them back to his lair.

Thank you for the instruction, Mr. Max.  As always, you are so helpful.  waytogo

This is why I want a tour guide.  Wish you had a day off while I was there.  [moto]

drink Tuesday evening will have to suffice.

Got the plan together now...

Should be arriving monday evening.

Have meetings Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

We will need some help boxing stuff and loading the truck Wed afternoon and Thursday, and looking for someone to do a move-out cleaner.

Morning ride?

See you all tuesday night at ?

Actually, PJ and his band are playing at Scalo on Nob Hill starting at 7:00.  I'd vote we have a Wednesday night Ducnight this week, if nobody has any objection.

Will you have a bike here or do you just want to see the crest? you could take the worlds longest tramway from the ABQ side and look down the crest road....but
if you have a bike any opportunity....well....I am always up for tearing that road apart
