Anyone know if a hypermotard sidestand will fit the 02 series monsters?  I have a 620 with raised ride height and a need for a sidestand at least 1" longer and probably more to get an more stable parked posture.  I've compared the online ducati manuals, which aren't particularly helpful, but it seems possible.

Thanks,
Mike

Ok, this might be useful for anyone with a raised ride height monster and the stock stand, which is now too short.  An HM stand fits and works very well.  I have an 02 620 with the height up as high as a ducati adj. dogbone will allow, probably about an inch longer than a stock bone.  That makes the bike lean badly on the stock stand.  So much so that when in the garage, I put a 1" spacer under the stand and its still too low.

If, like me, you have the stock low exhaust, the stand will hit the can given its much longer length.  I'm going to have a buddy put a weld bead on the stop side of the leg to build it up maybe an 1/8" or so to take care of that.  No big deal at all.  if you have high cans, you won't even need to do that.  I have aftermarket pegs, so I'm not positive it will work at all with the stock mounts, but I would bet that it would as there shouldn't be anything on the stockers that would get in the way.

When you look for the stand, make sure you get it with ALL hardware, bracket, bolts, springs, etc. since none of the stock monster stuff is compatible.  Except the switch, if you still have it.  The stock switch works just fine on the HM stand along with the weird little bolt that holds the switch on.  it mounts from the back on the HM stand, but that's it.

good luck,
mike

I'd say a good couple inches, but its not an apples to apples comparison.  The angle out is a bit different and the monster leg has that odd bend in it while the HM stand is straight (and way more solid).  the bike still leans at a decent angle and appears good and solid.  I'd say the parked bike with the HM stand is at about the same angle as the stock stand with a 3/4" spacer under it.

the foot on the HM stand doesn't sit flat on the ground, so its likely to dig into hot pavement, but no more than the little foot on the stock one and nothing a flat can or fancy DMF kickstand plate won't fix.

sorry this followup took so long.  Unfortunately, the stock monster switch doesn't work when flipped.  bike will start in neutral, but won't run in gear with sidestand up.  bypass the switch altogether or get an hm switch.
