I used to get offers to buy an HQ I was driving that I had restored.
ah a girl after my own heart! I am currently cruising around in a totally original unrestored HQ Prem (needs a repaint badly) and yet I am people offering me money for it. I have promised it to my young daughter - so no amount of money is going to make me sell it.
This comes to my next point - I too have put ridiculous figures on the HQ to dissuade people from buying it - at the end of the day it is something that I have an emotional attachment to. I have sold too many vehicles for all the wrong reasons - money, pissed off with it, troubles (both mechanical and

). I have only just realised that I have been putting myself through a vicious circle of buying vehicles to substitute for the ones I have sold. I should never of sold my first Ducati - a 500 Pantah. I replaced it with a 650, sold that, and replaced it with my Monster S2R1000. I have made the promise to myself that I am not selling it (bar some dire and I mean DIRE situation).
I guess what I am saying Matty is that you are probably like the rest of us - we ride a Ducati for a reason. It makes me feel cool, special, and blows my cares away when I am on it. I am passionate about Ducatis and owning one completes that bike rider part of me. I love this Monster as it is my first, and I (after a misspent youth of buying/selling vehicles) now understand that there is an emotional attachment that no money can substitute. Sure your getting excellent money for your bike, but make sure your not leaving a gap or regrets when you see it leave. No amount of $$$ can replace that.
That is just my 2 cents!
