It's supposed to be a stylized angel, complete with a halo and wings.  Kind of makes me wonder if there's a devil tire out there somewhere with horns???

Thanks, Somegirl and TheJourneyman!  I'm having a blast already    It's soooo smooth compared to my F 650!  And so much more responsive   It's really nice to have a 'fun' bike!

i believe Raux is correct, the article i read about them in a magazine said they turn in to devils as the tire wears

For what I know, this tyre change his grip power passing trough miles... After you done some miles with it, the grip changes into a more aggressive tyre and when you see the "devil" you can push over than when you see the angel... (read on pirelli website)
