I don't know about the thread but the riding should be saved for track days.
A track day is $100- $150 and does not put other peoples live at risk.

Well, it does, but at least those people know it.

Thanks for confiming my comments.
All I confirmed was the fact you don't take instruction well.
I asked for any further comment from you to be via pm.
According to the board guidelines...
6.1 Members shall conduct themselves respectfully when in dispute with a moderator. If a moderator instructs a member to take the discussion to PMs, please do so. The moderators will determine whether to lock the thread.
Also worth noting in the guidelines...
6.2 Members that smear or otherwise attack the site or moderators are subject to suspension and or removal.
I'm going to assume your comments about my lack of action on your complaints and your most recent comment to be a smear on my integrity.
Additionally...
Suspensions & Banning
First violation: 24-72 hour suspension. Initiated by any moderator.
Second violation: One week suspension. Initiated by any moderator.
Third violation: One month suspension to permanent ban. Admin decision.
Repeated violations or serious one-time violations or a pattern of conduct that requires disproportionate amount of moderator time will result in the member's access to the board being terminated. Basically, don't make youself a pain in the butt to deal with.
Today, I'm going to be the cop and you are the perp...welcome to our world.
Consider yourself suspended....
and have a nice day.

Ouch.
That being said, seriously - there are a few
small
common ground rules I've ridden by and have served me well ...
1.) Don't speed on the highway. Ever. Even if you've got a V1 / H.A.R.D. system, they've got laser - and airplanes - and unmarked vehicles. Plus, why?
2.) 30-35 zone? Or in a town?
SLOW. DOWN.
3.) Wheelies, stunting, etc? Nope.
4.) Street racing? LOL get outta here.
5.) Residential neighborhoods? Calm down Rossi, there are no trophies for winning the Cul-de-Sac TT.
Out in the middle of the canyons / mountains / whatever? Sure, wick it up a bit. It's all about situational awareness - if you're 15 miles from the nearest town, in the middle of the mountains - or on a parkway where you can see for miles in front of you, that's the place to have a bit of fun. People rarely bring context into their decision to have a spot of fun on their bikes.
Despite having a V1 / H.A.R.D system, I still received a few " excellence in velocity " awards the past couple of years, and as a result my street pace has slowed down
significantly
because it simply isn't worth it - especially when there are
TRACK DAYS
to go to. And when I do dial it up, it's far far away from anyone who would care
Cheers,
Adam

I got caught in the mid 90's down in Laguna on the I-5 headed south to San Diego, doing 95 in a 55. First words out of the officer's mouth were "Do you realize I can take you to jail right now?" I think the fact I was in the Navy and headed back to my command, saved my arse from going to jail. I ended up just paying the fine and doing traffic school.
It sounds like the officer already did you a favor by not writing the speed down. But I suppose that's all gonna come out when you have to explain your self to the judge.
I would plead guilty pay your dues and learn your lesson.
You never specifiy where on the 80 you got. As long as you weren't in Slohio given your record I'd imgaine you'll should be ok.
Now if you were in Slohio I do recall and quote from "Cannonball Run" you'll probably get the death penalty.

Huh? Track days are $100-$150? Where do you find those prices? In New England you're lucky if you can find one for $250!

Slohio. There's still a couple privately owned tracks out here that aren't in great condition.

With the motel, gas, track fees, food, and leathers rental, I spent about $400 to go to Willow. About the same as a big speeding ticket.

My last track-day was in Brno, cost $90. but Midohio offer track days for around the $150 mark.

Me, off to jail on Thanksgiving day, 2000. 137 and evasion. Felony. Bailed out that evening, if I recall, it was either $500 or $1000 to bail, it's been a while. Got my Honda CBR1000F out of impound the next morning, $168. They were supposed to keep it for a month, but nobody told the tow company guy that. So I rode it right by the police station. Got a pretty good double take out of that. Right off the bat, $5000 for a lawyer. Since I had quite a few tickets over the years, they (the District Attorney) wanted
16 months
in prison. For speeding and evasion. Unf-nbelievable. The lawyer I hired was golfing buddies with the judge. I got 180 days, Monterey County Jail. $1600 fine. I did an actual 77 days, the rest on home detention/work furlough, at the price of $27.00 per day, so 103 days, x $27.00 for about another $2900 or so.

This thread went wrong.
This is the exact reason we've tried to limit editorials about what police do and why. I don't care who is right or wrong but we've asked before to knock off the inflamatory shit. Then told people to knock off the inflamatory shit.
Since people on both sides can't appear to act like adults...well....
and Scott, I'm sorry you think we're so biased against you in this matter. We fend off dozens of complaints and requests about this issue all because the majority of members who ride have a very different opinion due to their own day to day observations and their own personal interactions with police, so we tend to feel pretty heavily that we're quite lopsided in our rules FAVORING the officers here.
There might be some changes, but if anything it'll be more relaxed on the issue.
