I hope the guy ends up OK in any case. You do have to wonder about don't you? New rider and new bike or just new bike? I would bet on speed being a factor here.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

I'd reckon new rider+bike...

I hope he's ok, as well... sucks to hear about bike fatalities. and that includes cases where they were the obvious asshat, and darwin took over.

Hope he is ok as well.  Sad thing is, I see probably candidates for this sort of thing just about every time I go out...

Speaking of which, how's your "friend" who ran into the pedestrians doing?

he's been loaned out to an outside shop since getting back. that's all I've heard so far.

the rumor mill has him one foot out the door, which is entirely possible, but I don't like spreading rumors.

Picture in the paper today looked like it was an SV1000S.  I kind of like those bikes.

I fig'd it wasn't a crotch rocket. because I have noticed that (unfairness is debatable) every time it's sport bike, they tend to mention the make/model.

Dunno about that.  When that guy (and girl on the back) dove under that parked van in Kahala a few months back they always mentioned it was a Harley.

That's cause if they just said motorcycle there would have been riots.  That moron wasn't on just any bike, he was on  Harley Davidson!  Recognize!
