a co-worker of mine just had me completely tear down a perfectly working 996SPS with 8500 miles and is selling/parting it out...
This makes me sad. Good chance I would have had a go at the full bike if it was still together. I miss my old 996.

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.
Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

$5K for this bike is a great price but I highly doubt that will be the final sale price. There's more than a day left so she may go a little higher. BTW, I owned an 06 749s (my garage queen) for years and still love her, but if I could start over again I would go for the 999. Check out some of the reviews on MCN. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Ducati/Ducati-749-2003---Current/

Yeah, there was a buy-it-now option for $6k but it's gone now. I was thinking about the 999 also, so I may wait till I find one of those.

well, it had a title issue as he inherited it from a dear friend that passed away from cancer, but there was no title for the bike...since he just didn't have the time and wherewithall to deal with the hoops for to get it titled, he opted for what seemed the best path for him and asked my help in tearing it down to part it out...I tore it down complete in about 4.5 hours...

Check out my oil filter forensics thread! Offended? Click here"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

+1 a coworker who's been lazily looking just sent me that link. Was wondering if there was an additional intel floating around

put the Capirex fly screen back on and I bet that thing would be good for a solid 140mph run!

Post deleted. Scam or did someone just scoop it up? What was it?
