"Looking to sell my 2005 Ducati Supermono in pristine condition. I've taken care of my "baby" and this bike is in excellent condition. I'm in the market for a new Superbike 899 and looking to make some money of this used baby. I'm asking $6300 but willing to go as low as $4800 or OBO. I live in Adams Morgan and have driven this bike to my job in Georgetown for the last 8 years ONLY during the Spring and Summer months with the occasional country road ride."

Willing to sell 1500$ less or best offer? Confusing.

Ridden it to work in DC traffic? The one time I was on the track with a SuperMono it would overheat if idling more than a few minutes, since it's a race bike. Also, since it was sold as a production racer it sold with NO lights, NO sidestand, etc.

Still, if this really is a SuperMono it would be a bad-ass thing to own. If you like old Ducati junk I mean. Smiley

I'm sure it's a scam - but I emailed the seller just for funzies.

Sure to be a scam - but at least it's an interesting one. Not a Gixer 600 for dirt cheap like the usual ones

Maybe his thought was "If you're dumb enough to buy the idea that I rode a Supermono to work for 8 years, you deserve to get ripped off!"

It has now been flagged for removal, so the gig is up....

Rats. And I really wanted a SuperMono for a couple of grand.  Grin

Oh and look! Here's where the pic in the ad was stolen from: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C338591

This guy wanted a little more than the CL ad.

He does say "Trade-in to be considered."  Since he is into classic single-cylinder motorcycles, I wonder if he'd take my 1971 Honda SL100 in trade. It is also red and was running great when garaged in 1992. Grin

Crazy Z's firehouse sale....anyone interested in dolci's 05 M620 with metal tank

has relatively new Michelins on it, mods include Givi A755 screen ( stock screen included ), Remus carbon High Mount exhaust half system, Ventura touring bag rack set-up, Axljak frame slider/protectors, and the battery tender pigtail installed....only maintenance due at this point is a good body wash and an oil change...all keys ( including red one) and title in hand...not pristine shape as she dropped it early in her ownership and it suffered the infamous tank dent from the handlebar...will get exact mileage and and take pics this afternoon...

need to sell immediately for financial reasons....will take $3K OBO

also for sale, my 99 Cagiva Gran Canyon 900ie...more details and whatnot to come....Pro-Taper handlebars installed, cupholder, factory side cases from a Navigator as well as a top case....will sell for $2K OBO
