Nice! Bookmarked. On a related note, is this a good price given the year and miles? Seller lives down the street. Not too big, not too small... I could always rip the plastic off and turn it into a streetfighter. Anything I should know about 749s?

I'd do this instead, assuming that "custom tail" wasn't due to a crash and he still had the stock piece.

that tail looks like a repainted CBR1000RR (04-07) tail poorly refitted....

now on the subject of deals...

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/mcy/2037375075.html

this is/would be a helluva bike for an S/O to start on or for to make right and running for to flip for spring if someone wanted a project like that...

Griso's are nice, but I think you'll find the front end to feel vague at best...was very weird feedback from that bike for me...

But look at it!!!  drool

Good to know the front would disappoint. That's actually one of the priorities in my next bike. Good adjustable suspension, lot's of torque, and easy to adjust/change the ergos.

drool worthy for sure...but the fact of the matter is that you still have the primitive technological architechture of a tractor ported into a moto chassis and it just doesn't lend itself to the confident level of spirited riding that most here have come to appreciate...

it is adjustable all right and has the ability to change certain ergonomics for sure...but the front end is still going to be vague at best...just how it is...

Ah, the ad is back up Wink Nice bike, and tempting! Evil

I think the main thing that would require getting used to with a Guzzi is torque steer (not sure about the term), especially in turns. As you accelerate, the bike tends to lean right, and viceversa when you decelerate.

I'm starting to believe I need a duck for spirited riding and a goose for touring and winter (hmmm heated gear drool)

Then you've already found the right one for you Wink

Griso?Huh? I don't think they turn that well and if they had any power would be suitable for a drag bike.

Maybe a 1000SS or you can't go wrong with a Superduke.

Perhaps the Superduke fairy will wave the magic key!!
