Judging by his other listing he's a dealer. This a 2008 model that is used, and it's taking up floor space so I'll bet they just want to move it and don't care for a profit at this point. Possibly a trade in that they want to get rid of?

You can probably get it for a bit less than he's asking.  I didn't pay much more than that for mine, and it had zero miles on it AND the Akra slip ons.

Still though, take a trip to his shop and look at it.  If you like it, flash 8G cash in his face.  I'm sure the bike would be yours then.

laughingdp  Thanks Rick!  I would get myself SO dead on that bike.  But I'm seriously looking at going back to just one moto, and as much as I would love to have it, a 999 would not make a good only bike for me, here with the roads we ride in Maryland.

999R would be an excellent addition to your current line-up.

It wouldn't be an addition, it would be a replacement.

Not entirely sure.  I know the front would bolt right up to that 999, but not sure about the rear.

Yeah - on the site I saw the link from someone was like "What idiot would buy that for 15 large?"
Well, if it's an early sand-cast with all the orig stuff and unmolested, a bunch of folks. This is the bike that finally killed the British Bike industry, and changed perceptions of what Japan could do. The CBs have been getting really collectible, but this one is at the top of the list.
I know guys who bought Vincents in England during the 60s and 70s who paid prices that would make you cry (they were students and it was all they could really afford). When one guy paid for it, the owner told him he was being silly buying an old broken down bike.
