Maybe, once you tell him that it'll do 140.

My speedometer once said I was doing 160!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Granted this was downhill with a strong wind at my back, but still) As long as he doesn't ask what units, I'm golden! I'll be sure to tell him I get 220 per tank too. laughingdp

That thing is cool. I can't get another bike until the Norton is together! And even then I can't get another one. Unless something really cool comes up.

The guy can most likely be talked down a touch if you take the right approach. The add states that the bike has the full Akra Ti system, when in fact it has FMF slip-ons. Also, KTM never spec'd any of their bikes with magnesium wheels, and those are the same hoops (the stock ones) that are on my SD. WPS suspension? Really?

My favorite line from that ad: "This bike is not for beginners."

Statements like that always remind me of the line a used car salesman I used to race with used years ago to great effect. A guy had come in to look for a new truck. He obviously didn't have enough money, but as an evil used care salesman he was duty-bound to get him to buy the most expensive (overpriced) truck on the lot. Said salesman looked over at the guy's family in the old truck and then back at said customer. "I don't know Bubba, I don't think your wife will let you buy this much truck."

Though not the same, my personal favorite on CL or other used ads is when people say they have $xxx 'invested' in the bike. Stock, bonds and T-bills are investments. No matter how much you spend, bikes are mostly toys. Get over the concept of 'investing'  Roll Eyes

^ that always bothered me too - I thought maybe its 'cause I'm an economist/lawyer and overly picky about such things  Roll Eyes

That KTM 950SM has been for sale for a really long time - if I'm not mistaken (and I might be) going on about six months now.
