Hi All,

I purchased an integrated LED tail light, the instructions said connect it to harness (im assuming there should be a harness of the tail light) however there were just 5 wires off the tail lignt.. no harness. I did not want to cut the harness out and connect directly just yet with out your thoughts. I did disconnect the harness and losely connected the 5 wires to the 5 points in the harness. I could get the tail light to work fine however when i connected the blinkers, oneside of the blinker was permanently on. Any thoughts would be great.

Cheers

Get your self one of those cheapo 12v test lights from an auto shop.
And check your indicator wires as you may have the earth crossed?

I personally wouldn't cut the wires when your at the auto shop buy the  red size crimp on terminals, spade type for the brake tail light and the indicators are pin style.

Makes a better job of it and when the cops Police book you for  illegal indicators it will make it easier to put back the original Kiss

Oh and you will probably need rezistors in the  indicator circuit or they will flash to fast.

So true.  I do like the look of integrated indicators but since there's so little actual crime to distract our Upholders of the Right from such pettiness, its just asking to be pulled over IMHO.

Good advice about the police dogs too  Wink waytogo

Apparently there needs to be a certain distance between the indicators (left and right) ... but then you would need someone to notice and take action.
