I just spent ten days on vacation in Tampa, FL and saw some of the ugliest motorcycles I've ever seen in my life.  Some were gaudy, some were covered in road rash, some had parts hanging on by electrical tape, the only decent looking bikes that I saw were of the goldwing variety.  Every sport bike that I saw was less than appealing and none of the riders had gear.

Please tell me that some of you guys reside in my home state to help beautify Florida's motorcycles.

i try to help keep florida proper.  there seems to be an extreme fascination with really ugly blinged out busas.  i also think i may be the only one in the entire state that wears any gear.  it really cooks me but i bear it.

And I thought it was just the state of things everywhere.  I try to help out the positive image.  No road rash, duct tape or extended swing arm here. Count me as the second to wear gear.  Hot as hades though.....

I am glad to hear that we aren't typical down here in Tampa/Orlando.

Of course in the interest of full disclosure when I was in high school gear consisted of helmet and gloves always as well as shorts, tshirt and sneakers most days.  I didn't know much better and couldn't have afforded it anyway......

Live and learn.

Living in all that hot Sunshine has a deleterious effect on their brains in the Sunshine State.

What I see mostly in the Ft. Myers area- where I exist part-time- are loads of big H-D cruisers with lots of chrome. Seem to be popular with the older set (i.e. my gneration).

Never noticed any rat bikes. The younger riders seem to prefer Gixers and Kawi's.

My darling mistress monster lives in florida, and is highly offended at your rude and un-gentleman-like comments!

I do notice a fair amount of untasteful mods around ft lauderdale/miami - but this is also typical of the cars  Undecided

There are some really gorgeous bikes around, though...

the crazy thing about florida is when you see the yahoos riding around without helmets on  bang head

i mean driving a scooter around at 20ish mph in panama city beach may not warrant one, but any real bike doing anything besides putzing around on the beach... come on

LMAO!!! Dude, you never even made it down to tha MIA!!!  We got the busa's with 40" extenshuns!!!  Oh, and on those same pieces of work, they got them TV'S!!!  WHATTTTT.  So their homeys behind them aren't bored!  In all seriousness, tasteful bikes down here are a needle in the haystack.  This is the reason our South Florida board is usually in a coma.
