Sharing a Printer on a network

Raux's suggestion wont work if you're running DHCP on PC #1.

We need more info from the OP. 

Forget printing for a moment.  On PC #1 if you create a shared folder is it accessable from any of the other PCs?

Set up as a network printer, how?  On the PC to which its cabled by USB it should be setup as a local printer and then shared.....

1) Are you running DHCP on any of the workstations? 

2) Go to each PC > comand prompt > type "ipconfig /all"   and play spot the difference.....

3) Vista is a PITA.... piss it off for XP or 7.

then he only needs the computer (hostname) name on the network instead.
