Even though I just bought a 696 recently and love it, it doesn't make sense in the line anymore IMHO. Ducati should have the 796 as the low end across the line & go up from there.

I think some insurance company subscribe to that "Over 750cc = double your premium" policy, so it makes sense to have an option.

They should make a model that has all the chassis goodies and with just a 100cc engine that we can swap out after purchase. ![Evil](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/evil.gif)

Yeah to get it to run it was something stupid like hooking the spark wires... but it met the loop hole. I think some insurance company subscribe to that "Over 750cc = double your premium" policy, so it makes sense to have an option.
European countries and others in the world have very different laws regarding motos and licenses for them than the US. Here someone can go buy a CBGsxRR100000 without even a license - other areas you are very strictly limited in the power/displacement of the bikes you can buy, or that are even able to be sold. A buddy living in Sri Lanka had to get a grey market Norton as it was over the legal displacement limit.

they should have custom ducati that you can mix match online and order straight frm factory like the R6. if i had all the money in the world....
Ducati 848 EVO with Ohlins front and rear with linear rates for 150lb rider straight from the factory, traction control enabled ecu and multi map feature, DP levers and rearsets + termi pipes.
i like dreaming sometimes!
