My guess is that there are some in garages that are not being riden. And most likely only 10 to 20 that are out of service. Ever now and then 1 shows up on e-bay with next to no miles. I think people are trying to use them as an investment.

He said "investment".   Motorcycle are NOT and investment.    Like those Harley Ads that say, $40,000 invested, asking $8500.    That's a Bernard Madoff investment.    How do you make $1,000,000 racing motorcycles?   Start with $5,000,000.

The Desmosedici is definitely an investment ......
a friend was being offered an extra US$15k the very day he got the bike ..... he kept the bike anyway.

There's one sitting in a local dealer here for well under the 72K msrp.  If you can get 15K more for it right now let me know.

There might have been a premium at first if people couldn't get them, but they're around and available now and not at 70K.

so maybe 'was' an investment if you could flip it instantly like your friend could have.

There's an unsold s4r tricolore at the local dealership. I don't know what number it is, but if you needed to pick up an extra one, they're out there.

I have #210. She's a garage queen at the moment while I'm working overseas, but when I was unemployed and going to school on my GI Bill, I took it just about everywhere, Gym, School, autoparts store...
