Too much time to surf teh interwebz looking for new toys for the 620 drool...I'll keep you posted as they arrive, with pics if I'm smart enough to post'em. [moto]

Speaking of...what do you guys think about a set of used high-mount termis, DP ECU and K&N airfilter for $1000?

Anyone else have new bling on the way?

Is it the ECU for a 620? If not... then it's useless for you Sad If so could be a good deal if it cans are in good shape.

I'm due for a new chain and sprocket set soon... though don't know if that qualifies as bling.

I'd go for 2x the drool drool with high comp big bore pistons from ferracci!!! Of course that would be 2x the bacon as well, but there is no thing as free lunch, so let the spending begin!  Grin Grin Grin

Seriously tho, I wouldn't be sure about putting that amount of money into a bike that you'll probably want to sell relatively soon to move up to something more powerful. Right now CraigsList has an '05 S2R for 6K and a '99 m900 with low miles and lots of nice mods for under 5k!

Personally I've bought a new pair of gloves and pants from Motorcycle Superstore. I also got one of those streetfighter/dirt bike headlights off ebay. I'm going to put it on the m750, just for kicks. Grin

My problem is I have a little exhaust envy after riding with Yuu a couple weeks ago...

but it's probably good advice to wait and snag a bigger model in the spring. drool The other things I've snagged are plug and play on lots of monsters, so I won't lose too much that way...or maybe I'll just have to keep both!  [moto] [moto]Shhh....talking like that will get me in BIG TROUBLE!

Well - if you can just find slip-ons (no ECU) all the DSS monsters share those. So it'd be easy enough to swap them or pull them for separate sale when the time came to sell the 620. The ECU would be for a 620 only, so that would make reselling it tougher.

- Though I missed part of the comment (was getting some ice cream while hiding for the storm yesterday) sugonaut buddy Brett proclaimed something like 'You need some Termis man. I've just spent 200 miles behind those things, and yeah you need some now.'

Then I must be really lucky since that's the deal with my wife: one bike's my commuter the other is my 'fun' toy Grin

I know how you feel tho, I'd pour entire paychecks into my bikes if my wife didn't keep me in check! And yuu's bike really looks awesome!

For what it's worth, here's my *current* drool list:
 - Mbp Heads, around $2500
 - Marvic Assen Forged aluminum wheels, 2530Euro
 - BrakeTech ceramic rotors about $2000
 - Ferracci 944 kit, $950
 - Lightweight Alu 700 frame, 3000Euro

Thing is tho, that if/when I sell the bike I will NEVER get my money back. Some people think bikes are investments, and they'll get back whatever they spend in them...

Plus after shaving all that weight from the bike, I'll have to lose 30 pounds myself to keep it fair!  Cheesy

Cheapest way to get more Hp per pound out of a bike is to get a lighter rider - Says the over 200 pounder.

Cross the 944 kit off... they have mixed reviews as best. Folks have found better results with High-comp pistons on the same displacement

I was DAMN sad when I missed the $100 termi slipons by 10 minutes Sad

Then I could have saved the rest for my next object of desire...so many monster flavors, so little garage space!

Well with a bit of luck you might be able to score these arrow high mount cans on ebay.

What I don't know is if you need to remap your ecu when you change cans, or if you only need that when you change/remove the airbox... boy do I love my carbs!  bow down bow down bow down

Thanks MrEnke...those look tasty right now. I'll keep my eye on them.

Maybe Yuu can school us on the ECU remap?

You can't remap the factory ECU easily - I don't have that gear. Usually folks go with a power commander, juice box, power card etc to change up the fueling when one of the DP ECUs wasn't available.

BUT! IF you're just adding the slip-ons, then you really shouldn't need to adjust anything. IF you go adding an opened up airbox, K&N filter etc, then you have changed the AIR component of your air/fuel mix and need to compensate for it. But if you just open out the exhaust, the a/f mix coming into the combustion chamber is unaltered.

Well, I've gone from nothing really planned... to possibly trading out my rearsets and cans for monoposto cyclecat rearsets and that 916 style full system...

Holy shit! What a difference a front tire makes. Just sweated my ass off coming home from the shop....where I got new tires and rear brake pads. My bike does the happy shimmy [moto] at 85 now instead of the bionic man...she's breaking up, she's breaking up!  bang head (not that I use the rear much, but I'd like to know it works when I need it)

I'm awfully glad WindNoise has the Police occupied! This new fangled traction on these new tires is so amay-zing. I don't have to walk by bike around the curves any more.

I have to agree with the, "save your money for the next bike" approach. You can sink 2K into your 620 for (maybe) 5 more HP. Get your bike in solid running condition... and just enjoy it for what it is. Ride it for a 1-2 years and trade up to bigger displacement. You're doing the right thing by getting decent tires and brake pads. Maybe get some slipons for more growl. Arrows are an excellent value; they look better than stock, sound great, and are less expensive than most.
