I put PitBull spools on another bike -- hollow steel swingarm.  No problems.  Rivnuts squashed perfectly.

But now I am looking at my 900sp, which has an solid-bar aluminum swingarm.  No place for the rivnut to squash.  If I drill into it with a 25/64" bit, it will make a clean hole straight thru.

Has anyone put these onto a bike with a solid swingarm?

I looked on the Pit Bull website:

http://www.pit-bull.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PBMSA&Product_Code=F0013-001&Category_Code=

Net:  Do not use riv nuts on a solid swingarm.

Allows spools to be added to hollow swingarms. Drilling required.

so the net is that I need to drill and tap a smaller hole in the swingarm, no riv nuts.  I am thinking I might use helicoils or similar to have steel teeth instead of a steel screw into the aluminium.  The mounting screws are 6mm.
