-M14-001-000  Zero Map
-M14-001-001  Stock exhaust, Stock air filter
-M14-001-502  European Model Termignoni race slip-ons (DbKiller removed) Stock or aftermarket air filter Stock ECU O2 Optimizers installed
-M14-001-503  European Model Termignoni CE approved slip-ons (DbKiller installed) Stock or aftermarket air filter Stock ECU O2 Optimizers installed

These are the maps that PC has for the 696. of course you can only download the first two??
anyway. the second two are confusing even in their description.
They are for slipons with stock ecu got that, but what is interesting is that there is no discerning of the map for a stock vs freeflow air filter.
Now, everything i have learned about the air filter issue is that the bike will get more air and need more fuel. so these maps are putting in the same fuel for both air filters.
something isn't right about that.
and in reality they are only saying there is a difference between having the db killers vs no db killers. and everything i've read is that should have little effect on fueling issues.

so what's the deal?

  This is where a custom map will come into play.

 As easy as a custom map would have been for me, the head Ducati mechanic at my local dealer, the brains behind the shop, just parted ways with the dealership.

yeah figured

just wanted a good jumping off point with little or no work.

i'll have the DP ECU, freeflow filter with a bit larger opening, and open exhausts. occasionally running the db killers.

then in the winter i'll be making tons of changes. and know it will be a custom job then.

the pc v is on order.

got word from Dynojet.

they only offer a map for the stock US 696.
for Euro bikes they offer the other two.

key here is the only difference i know of between the us and euro models is the charcoal canister with the tubes to the throttle bodies.

and since i have no charcoal i think the euro ones are a close start.

but still not sure about the whole free flow airfilter is same as stock filter on fueling

Raux, if you're gonna be running DP ECU, that alone will be sufficient to compensate for the more free flowing air filter.  After all, when you get a set of Termis, it comes with airbox cover with a few more holes, free flowing air filter and "racing" ECU.  So, your greater airlow is already dealt with (presumably) in the DP ECU.  

Your PC5 mapping will add additional fueling for more HP, better running......  but the air flow deal is already dealt with.....

Or have I misunderstood?

the 696 kit doesnt have the extra holes that i know of. i thought it was just the filter
the 1100 kit does have the extra holes as you know

anyway, i wanted to smooth things out as well. and since i'll be making changes soon, i figured i go ahead and get the pc v now

So what I'm saying is that with your DP ECU you're already good to go.  The fueling for free flowing filter is already covered.

Both is good. But PC5 now or later wont be a requirement.  It'll just be nicer  Evil

Meanwhile, back on topic (kinda).....

If M696/M1100 had reflashed ECU to delete the 02 inputs, rather than loading off the peg PC5 mapping, or visiting your Dyno centre for custom mapping, who thinks it could be an idea to fit the Autotune option for PC5??  The Bosch wideband sensors could presumably fit right where your stock O2s just left from.... and since you'd be running open loop you'd be running dynamic mapping managed by Autotune/PC5 throughout the entire range.  Problem is, you'd need 2x Autotune boxes which is expensive and I have no idea if PC5 can accept more than one Autotune input.  Unless the Harley-specific Dual Autotune could be adapted.......

Thoughts?

yeah i think Dynojet has an autotune setup for the 696. they had it available before the pc v was available. would be pretty silly if it only had one O2 sensor.

BUT... an email to confirm would be nice. I'll let you know what I hear.

kinda ticks me off I spent the money on an DP ECU now, but that's the problem with impatience.
