I've become an old man on an old man's bike

WWW
« on: June 07, 2008, 05:15:31 AM »

Now I know the bikes are at completely different ends of the scale.
But I've noticed lately that these are of a similar appearance.
Not the same I know, but there seems to have been much discussion about how much the 696 swing arm looks like a jap bike.

So what do we think, go for the RR and good for the 696 or are we still not liking it?

Yeah I do and I have said it on the other thread about it being in Melbourne.
Also said it on the main board under a  waytogo waytogo thread for the 696.

I'll wait to see what happens with the bigger bikes 800-1000, keen to see if an 848 motor comes out in it.
But yes I do like it and am very happy to say it see photos in the Melbourne thread....

All I was thinking here was how similar the rear is of each bike.

I'll be lining up a  [moto] as soon as Wollongong have one to demo, much better place to ride than Homebush.

Hmmm,
As Dock said, if it puts a smile on your dial, who cares what anyone else thinks.

And as I've said, there are some things I don't like about it, but that's why we mod them.

I wouldn't be caught dead on my bike if it still had the stock exhaust on it, that's why I changed it. (Sorry Jukie) Wink

And that rear mud guard flap thingy that had the rego and licence plate on it. Gone!

I'm starting to like it more and more, as for the swing arm, I think it's an improvement on the old DSS.

BTW....I'm test riding a Shiver in the next couple of weeks. Grin

and you reckon your wife is going to let you spend time in garage with that?

they are the most extreme 'optional extras' I've ever seen - I was going to suggest you read the accessories catalog or look at them on the net for th 696 - the bike COULD look amazing....but compared to the Shiver the catalog is pretty boring.

Regarding the Shiver - another tailchop looks to be in the pipeline (yes, I zoomed in to check the rear end out).
