Well, on this board anyway...

Greetings & Salutations waytogo

After many (many) years in the big city, I decided it was time for a change, so about a year ago I moved from Dallas (pop. 6m) to the sprawling metropolis more commonly known as Tres Piedras (pop. 250, give or take Shocked ).
For those of you that are geographically challenged, I'm 30 miles NW of Taos, at the corner of Highways 64 & 285. Google it.

I love it here- great weather, great skiing, & great riding! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I'll definitely be down for some track days [moto]

It's a bit far to make social events in ABQ, but if you're ever this far North, gimme a shout. Maybe we could meet up & ride the High Road. Better yet, let's plan a weekend slumber party/tequila tasting/ridefest at my place Grin

Speaking of which, here are a coupla shots of my humble abode-

Greetings and salutations.  I don't know if I'd rather live in Dallas or Three Feet (Isn't that what Tres Piedras translates to?), but welcome to the list, anyway.  We've only done one big Taos run this year, so I'd say we're due for another before the weather heads south.  Thanks for the invitation, and welcome to the list!

I see you've scratched the old spring head single off of your ownership list.  Some of the folks here are considering mounts for vintage racing and spring head singles tend to do well in our Ultra Lightweight class.  Care to preach the virtues of spring head single ownership?  Got a preference for wide case versus narrow case?

One of the guys I race with is selling a 250 wide case with frame and swingarm for $750.  The engine turns over, but he doesn't know if it'll run without a thorough "going through".  Too much?  In the ball park?

Ed....Stew....Karl....here's someone who probably knows something about spring head singles for you to quiz!!!

Thanks for the lesson in Spanish.  I guess pies is just feet, and piedra is stone.  Learn something new every day.  I learned French about 10,000 years ago and in that language pieds is feet, hence the confusion.

The Monza just sold- it leaves for CA tomorrow. Full Dislosure: I know next to nothing about old singles. I bought it as a project, to fix up & sell, but my motorcycle tech in Dallas did most of the work. Randy's the genius, as clearly evidenced in the photos-

http://gallery.me.com/metcalfe/100208

It was fun, sourcing parts, & learning a bit about the old bikes, but no more carbs for me... I'm also selling the Toaster & the Vespa. I finally realized I could only ride one bike at a time, & 6 was toooo many. From now on, I'm strictly a fuel-injected kinda guy Grin
