Steering stop adjustment

The workshop manual says to adjust the steering stops so that you leave 6 to 7mm between the frame and the fork tubes. They use a 6.5mm shim (A) as in the following picture

I'm glad this subject came up.  I hadn't looked at it since I installed my City Bars and I did today.  Looks like I can shrink my turning radius significantly.  It will really help in the place I store my bike.

Make sure that you don't pinch any wires, cables or hoses with the extra rotation you get.

Check also that things aren't getting stretched.

Check throttle freeplay with bars turned full left and right.
Start the engine and do the same test, adding throttle at full lock when maneuvering can be a bad surprise.
