Brian put me down for a tentative yes for Thursday... It will be my final day at my current work after 11 years, so there's a possibility of celebratory drinks after work, which would of course rule me out, but if not I'd be keen to get out for a ride.

The best way to make sure it doesn't rain is to have a contingency plan ... so how about that other place up the road we went to a couple of times with the big indoor area and carpark, is it still an option?

Mark, the BOM sais there is only a 90% chance of rain so it will bucket down during the day then fine up for the evening.
By the odd chance that i'm wrong, then your contingency plan could be a good idea. Forget the name of the place but one of us could stay at Bar and herd people up there, depends on who braves it if it rains.
Or just don't let Mr Rainmaker come tonight
