Not a fan of the Chaos if meant for a daily carrier. Too many nooks and crannies to hang up on for a quick draw and tanto blades suck imo (even though I've carried a tanto bladed Emerson for the past 5 years!!)
Check out the Emerson mini's with the wave feature. I whip mine out on a daily basis. Used it cutting bait while surfcasting to cutting drywall.
Cool stats and look on the Chaos.

Its been there for me plus its faster to draw than a switchblade, and thinner and its never opened up in my pocket. Switchblades are also illegal to carry (at least in my C state).
The Benchmades are a very good knife. I believe Mr. Emerson used to work for Benchmade.

I have one of these on me pretty much 24/7 - not going to protect me, but I use the hell out of it everyday at work and home:

I've had this for daily use for 3 or so years.

It's been awesome.
I've also got several Microtechs, but I'm afraid to lose them.

I carry one of these, I've had great luck with kershaws, especially the Ken Onion knives. This one is a switchblade of sorts.

I've been carrying the Benchmade Strykers darn near since they came out. It seems to be about the biggest, toughest folder that is still convenient and slim enough to carry and won't break the bank. There are bigger, meaner, tougher knives out there but some of them are so large that they aren't convenient, or so expensive I dont want to put them through the abuse a pocket knife will take. I am not sure I like the new Stryker Nitrous line though.
As far as straight knives, I have been forging my own for the last 5 years or so, using Japanese clay tempering on simple carbon steels. I forge in 1080, O1, W1, 5160. They cut like mad and hold a great edge but my cosmetics are lagging behind my metallurgy.

If anyone is interested, the Chicago International Custom Knife Show is Sept 10,11. I've been to it several times. There is always some real cool stuff there to seperate you from your cash. Too broke to go this year, guess I'll just have to go out to the forge and beat out something cool myself.

I carry a Kershaw Leek. It has a nice weight to it and the assisted opening action is fast and smooth.

I've carried Spyderco Endura's since the early 1990's.
Great quality. I also much prefer the thumb hole to the thumb screw openers.
I have a little Gerber and the thumb screw gets caught on stuff, or my thumb slips off it when I try to open it. Never had a problem with my Spydercos.

But it also depends on why you want the knife. You asked "What are your favorites?"
My favorite every-day carry is my Spyderco. I also carry a little Gerber boot knife. I have a couplea others knives in my home, but I have a favorite knife that I rarely carry that is just pretty - a little double-edged Gerber Guardian Back-up.

My Leatherman has knives, and it lives in my Tank Bag.
Different uses....

I'm a huge fan of Cold Steel knives, Used to have a Ti-Lite back when they were still made of titanium. Kershaw is what I have now, Had a little Smith & Wesson as a cheapy work knife that always worked smoothly. Benchmade was another favorite that I've seen and tinkered with but have yet to actually own.
