Thanks very much for the offer.  Several OzMonsters have survived sharing accommodation with me previously. Some more than once!!

At this stage I still don't know if I'm going to the GP.  I'm squeezing in another road trip between then and now so not sure where I'll be at the time.

However, if I'm back in Victoria and I don't go I could still ride a little way with you guys.  I live in Hamilton - not far from Mount Gambier.

Cool as - I think both Vossy is heading that way his group, and so will I with my mates.  More than welcome to join us for a cruise.  I will PM you once I have my travelling plans finalised closer to the date!

cheers

As a rule we meet one of our other mates on the Wednesday in Mt Gambier in the early arvo for lunch at Hungry Jacks. Then head to Warrnambool and stay over night.

posted from another list

Do you know anyone that is looking for accommodation on Phillip Island.
The house has three bedrooms, one of which has a set of bunks. I want to get one of the bunks, but we need to find somebody else to fill the other bunk.
The cost would be $275 for 4 nights, from the 14th of October.
It also has a garage to store the bikes.
Please email me if there is anyone that is looking for accommodation.

Regards,
Graham Coleman

People might get mixed up and go knock on M Doohan's door.
Doesn't he have a black Jet Ranger or is he flying an EC now.

I am a last minute inclusion. Wasn't planning on going but a mate and his partner had it all organised...until they broke up and he ended up with the credit card bill for the trip. So I stepped in to help him recover costs and fill the spot.

I'll be catching the barge over from Tas on Thurday night. Might see a few friends in Melb before heading down to PI on Friday. I am staying in Cowes somewhere but not exactly sure yet. All I know is its a house I am sharing with s few other friends.

Catch the barge back again Monday night.

I'm up for dinner if we arrange a DMF get together. drink chug waytogo

Is there anybody that has been down to the Island that knows how this might work?

Would it be practically impossible to all grab dinner at the same place? Will someone have the facilities to host an Ozmo get-together?

Ideas people?

Cowes itself will probably be a friggin nightmare with a lot of the restaurants booked in advance - would have to check now for availability.  There are a couple on the main drag leading in to Cowes that may have the parking facilities.

Last time we actually ventured off the Island to San Remo, last little town right before you cross the bridge to the Island.  Nice pub there and it didnt seem as crowded as Cowes.  Parking could be easier too!

Open for suggestion, but I would definitely like to catch up with the rest of the OzMo riders!  waytogo [moto]

If dinner turns out to be too much of a nightmare we could just meet up at the track maybe?

Again I am a newbie to this stuff ... but my first thought was that that would be even less likely. Meet people throughout the weekend maybe, but not a mass gathering Huh?

Last time there was a group there for WSBK (of course less people) we exchanged numbers beforehand
and did our best to make a meeting one of the afternoons. Friday was best as there are usually a few less
people around.
Not that I'm going for Moto GP but Friday could be your best chance of making a meeting point and doing your best
to stick to the time/place.

Happy GP people.

Do we have any confirmed numbers for the GP?

I sort of make it about 9 or 10?

It's problably getting a bit late but how's our chances of booking somewhere for dinner. (I have to remember to count my 5 other travel mates for dinner as well or else my name will be mud)
shit,   that brings it up too 15 and counting

The other thing too is which night would suit people.

For me, the Friday night would be better because I've already got plans for Saturday night (could bail out though)

Vossy I think the most sensible option is probably Friday night (or Thursday or Monday laughingdp). As for booking (whether too late or not) I wouldn't know where to start.

I don't know if it needs to be a formal occasion (for which I suspect we would probably need definite numbers and a deposit) ... how about takeaway pizza at the beach Huh?

Anybody that knows their way around thesethings/theisland care to make a suggestion?

I think the take-a-way pizza thing sounds like it could be the go.
we would have to order the pizza as soon as we meet up so it will be ready when we are about to leave. cheeky

There are a few options on takeaway in the main street of Cowes.
The earlier we get there the better.

Just a suggestion - we meet up in the Coles supermarket carpark on the Friday at 6 - 7 pm ?
and go from there (whether it be park the bikes somewhere and get some food or go and order our food and have a beer while we wait)

+1 for the pizza & Coles thing on the Friday night - or we could go to Subway where I have seen Nicky Hayden having a foot long....then again...... cheeky
