I guess I got roped into riding with Curve Unit on Sunday.  It's an E. Bay ride, starts about 10:30, for gals only.  If any woman would like to meet me at my place to join me let me know.  I can give you an address n stuff.  It's apparently all skill levels.  We'll leave my place about 9:45 and cruise on over the hill to the meet spot via Redwood Rd.  I'll ride whatever pace you want.

And for the guys that know me, shut up.

Did you happen to run into a woman named Wren riding a multistroodle? She and I went to college back in the day...

I was the only Duc there and I didn't recall anyone named Wren.

There were lots of photos.  I'm not sure where they are and am relatively relieved that nothing has come of them.  We rode at parade pace most of the time--a lot of newer riders along I guess?  There was a crash, but it sounded minor.  They have a crash truck that attends their group rides.  The eat-spot was fairly awesome actually--I want to go there again.  The route was so-so.  Part of it was a little gravelly.  They asked me to lead a small group over Redwood...I was volunteered by Christie.  I was a bit surprised they'd ask someone who has never ridden with them to lead.  I didn't hold back much on the stretch that I led.  Guess they liked it.

Huuuhhrrr?!?  I guess that's a good idea, but it still makes me go  Shocked

Is the Curve Unit a big group?  I always thought of it as like a dozen or so women.

Is that same Christie that maintained a blistering pace on Mines/Del Puerto?

I've stalked their photo threads on BARF before, seemed like a lot of people. But crash truck, that just seems like bad juju to me. I might have one at the ready back at the house or something.

I think Curve Unit at least a few dozen women--not sure--it was probably 30 or 40 on the ride.  We got a lot of looks, honks, etc.  It was sort of strange.  The Curve Unit gals took it in stride and waved and smiled.

Sounds like a TON of men ride with them most of the time, however.  Supposedly it's the guys show-boating for the gals that causes problems and necessitated the crash truck.  When one of the women crashed on our ride we were instructed to move on and let the meat wagon scoop her up and deal with it.

I don't know which Christie rode with you on Mines, TCK.  Tall, killer-body Christie?

Don't remember that, but it was probably her.  She's hard to miss.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I'm still amazed.  A crash truck?!?   Again, not that it's a bad idea per se, but dayum.

Yeah, a regular ride that necessitates a crash truck is probably not a ride I'll be attending all that often.  Personal choice, not a reflection on Curve Unit.  Then again, we had a streak on here that was well known outside of our circle.  We probably should have had an ambulance in tow as well as a crash truck.
