Some New Mods
«
on:
September 10, 2010, 07:01:54 AM »
I just installed my new LeoVince Carbon SBK cans and CW tail tidy I recently purchased from Moto Wheels. They hooked me up, Thanks again Moto.
The exhaust is really, really, really nice, especially for $600 and change. It sounds and more importantly looks so sweet. The weight loss between the 2 mods is very noticeable which I was not expecting at all. An added bonus is a little more torque in the low end, but once you hit about 75 or so I don't notice any significant difference really. It sounds really nice, it's a deeper grumpier sound than the stockers.
The CW tail tidy was a nightmare to install. The first page of the instructions say install time should be an hour. Hah. An hour maybe if it had no wires to reroute or hide. The instructions just leave you to figure out how to make everything work with only 2 holes and sharp edges everywhere. I probably wasted 6-8 hours trying to figure out the best possible way to route the wires, and it still is not what I would call a "neat" install. I called CW for some tech support and lets just say I would have been better off not calling.
It is staying on because my cut up fingers do not want me to take it off ever again, but I will never buy a CW product again.
So my real question is... Do I go with sticker, or sans sticker on the cans? Hopefully the pix post. I'm leaning against, but they don't look awful. I was thinking of turning the yellow red somehow, but it would be pretty impossible based on the way the badges are made.
Thanks!

Looks good!! I'm really thinking of a set of Leo Vince, as i think the Termis are way over priced! $600 clams huh? Sound wise, I like the deep sound, but not the obnoxious, just enough so people in cars know you are there and not change lanes into you!!

These are perfect with the Db killers in. Just slightly louder at idle, but what your looking for at speed. Without the DB's would be really loud I'm guessing, and I can not piss the neighbors off as I am not allowed to have a motorcycle in my community. I have to be very low key and these do this. They also make a cool popping sound on decel which I really like. For the cash you really can't go wrong.

Yeah, without the db killers they're LOUD.
And are the logos actual stickers? On mine they were metal emblems.

Same as yours, they are metal. It's a shame they are yellow.

WTF!? Time to start looking for a new "community"!
I had no idea when i moved in. I got a visit from the condo prez saying I was not allowed to have a motorcycle due to it being written in the condo bylaws. She said the bylaws were written in 73' and pretty much anyone that rode a bike back then was "trouble" so it was written in to keep "that type" out. They could change it with a vote, money, and lawyers, but I just keep it in my living room , and zoom in and out of my rear sliding glass door. I think she knows i still have it, but as long a no one complains I'm good. It's like my batcave entrance.
Can't sell, too many people have defaulted on their loans causing the ENTIRE communities property values to plummet to short sale levels. That's why one should never buy a condo/townhouse. Your home value is tied directly to every other unit in the whole community. I've never missed a mortgage or maintenance fee, but I am now lumped in with them as if I did without the benefit of keeping my money. I'm stuck here for a while now unfortunately and I would really like a garage.
