I can't find an led that is as bright as an 1157. What are you running?

Web Bike World http://www.webbikeworld.com  has reviews on a number of LED 'bulbs'.  But to sum things up for you, for the most part they have not found any of the LED 'bulbs' to work as well as the old fashioned incandescents.

But, for brake lights you've got other options.  There's a couple companies that make LED boards that fill out the whole area inside the tail light lens.  These work a lot better that the fakie bulbs and generally the stock incandescents.  Light output varies from notacable to holy crap.  I've got a Clear Alternatives 'Integrator' and it works well.  Someone in the area has a Heavy Cycles board, which is way brighter - verging on dazzling under brakes... but it costs more than twice the CA unit.

There's a couple other similar producs on the market - Monster parts has one and there's some on Ebay.  A couple folks on here have recently bought the ebay ones, and initial reports are good.

I made my own LED board and it came out great.  If I take into account my time, in addition to materials, it cost in the neighborhood of .... I don't know .... $500 dollars?    

Seriously, though, it did take many hours because I etched a custom PCB and hand soldered about 50 LEDs and 2 dozen resistors.  I may have some photos somewhere.  I'll have to dig around.

I can vouch for the "other" one from MonsterParts. Not the CA unit, that POS failed in a week! He has another one now and it is much brighter and sturdier than the CA unit.

NOTE: It will take some modification to the brake light reflector bucket on an S4RS. Ask me how I know...

When did you get your CA unit?  I've got one that's coming into it's 3rd season with me and still going strong.  I've heard of other folks having issues with CA units.. I wonder if there was a dip in QC at a time, or I just got the super dooper board.

Just get a whole new unit.This is the one I have. If you don't like the clear you can always paint it.

As with anything there are lemons, I just didn't feel like making lemonade and when Jeff said he had a new product and it looked beefier and wasn't gonna charge me anything addt'l for it, I went with it. It has been bulletproof so far...

I got the LED board from Monsterparts.com as well, and it fit my '07 695 perfectly.  It's soooo easy.  Take off lens cover, pull off lightbulb, plug LED board plug in, re-attach.

So much brighter than stock!!

If I'm not mistaken, the LED board you purchased does not have the turn signals integrated into it. Is that correct?

I just installed the CA on my '01 M900Sie. Only a few hundred miles, but it works fine. It came with a clear lens to replace the stock red lens.
