As for the neutral light.

Check to see if the lead to the switch is connected.  Yours will look a little different than the one below, but it will be in the same location.

Thanks for the pic,  also what do you mean by married?  does that mean it would be no good for mine and I would need a new one?

Also I put the stock ECU back in and still the same problem?

Also I just spoke with the guy that sold me the set up and he said he just bought the setup and installed it himself,  he never used the red key or whatnot and doesnt think he "married" it to his bike.

Hello all,

I am the previous owner of this setup and had it on my 05 S2R for a few years.  System was purchased new as a DP slip-on/ecu/open airbox kit.  I installed the slip-ons, swapped out the airbox covers, unplugged my ecu and plugged in the new one.  Bike fired right up.  There were no extra steps to marry the ecu to my bike.

The fact that his gauges sweep with key on make me think that it is not the ecu that is causing this problem.  Also, he is experiencing the same issue with the stock ecu.  My opinion is that something in the neutral circuit is disabling the starter.

Of course, I could be totally wrong.

I will keep an eye on this thread and in communication with jj20 until resolution.

Did you try to start it with the clutch pulled in and the kickstand up?

Yes, I tried to start it that way and no dice.....  Im going to check all the neutral cable and kickstand when i get home from work.. Ill check back in.. Thanks

If the ECU was bad, would the Green N light still come on when i turned the key on and put it in neutral?

I just got off the phone with my local Ducati service dept.

Tech there states that there should be no issue installing that ecu on another monster.  The only thing that needs to be tweaked at times is the TPS, otherwise it is basically plug and play.

I talked to a few Ducati dealers today and it seems like with each one you get a different answer, just like the " how do i get my pool clear" question :)  Anywho im getting ready to head home and try a few things.  Ill check back in...

Tried everything and the bike just wont start.  I decided to push start it and it started. My ? is I assume ill take it to the dealer so is there any harm in me push starting it and riding it to the dealer?  Will it hurt anything?

Is this the neutral switch?  Is something missing??

I looked for a wire but couldnt find it...   Where does the other end connect and what should the connection look like that connects the the end shown?  could that be the whole reason that the bike is not starting?   Also would it jump start if the ECU was bad?

It should be there with the rest of the wires/hoses. Mine has white insulation over the connector.

Unfortunately we can not tell you where the wire went, but the signal goes back to the computer, as does the sidestand switch and the clutch switch, since that switch allows the bike to start as long as the clutch switch is disengaged.   If the clutch switch is operable the bike should start if the lever is squeezed and the sidestand is up.  This is a safety system  to prevent you from riding off with the sidestand down and highsiding on your first left.

The fact that the gauges sweep and the immobilizer light goes out means the ECU, key and dash are happy, so you should be looking elseware.  Obviously, first step is the neutral switch wire.
