Hey all

What is the difference between a Mid pipe and a collector box?  Looking to finally do the exhaust on my 06 S2r1000 and am a little unsure of the difference and which one works better with Termi's.

Here are the two I'm looking at

http://store.ducatiusa.com/product/0/979A00107/_/Steel_high-efficiency_collector_box_for_all_exhaust_kits_for_S2R_1000

and

http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/D-148/Exhaust/D-148.html

Marving says cat eliminator but in description says to be used with Cat in place and 02 sensor?  Isn't this supposed to be eliminated with full exhaust?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Basically the same thing, just different brands and different names, The Ducati USA unit is the Ducati Performance unit (I assume)
and Ducati always called it a "Collector Box" even though it it just a pipe(s) I had the DP unit on my S2R 800, a friend of mine
ran the Marving on his S2R 1000.

The description you are reading from Monsterparts page about the Marving:
Can be used with standard silencers or any slip-ons designed for use with cat in place.
Accepts attachment of O2 sensor

All it means if you already have aftermarket or OEM (Factory original) pipes that are designed to work with the OEM Cat system, they will work
with this pipe, meaning it should go on your Bike with no modding of your Existing cans/Exhaust system.
They do NOT mean run both the Cat eliminator pipes and the Cat at the same time. They could reword that description a little better.

In other words Drop out the Cat and O2 sensor (If equipped) Fit new Cat Eliminator pipes and refit O2 sensor (If Equipped)
Ride off into the Sunset, front wheel lofted high!  waytogo

Also allow that in some Countries and Regions it is illegal to remove or modify emissions systems/equipment, so I would suggest hanging on
to the removed cat in case you ever sell the bike. or if  Police or an EPA officer comes sniffing around.

When I sold my S2R I kept the old Cat, the new owner put it on for Road worthy, passed the Road worthy and got his new registration, he took it
straight home and ripped it straight back off and put it back in storage.
