There's a bunch of boozers here in CAM, so figured I'd start up a drinking thread.

Also, seemed like a good spot to announce that Shirlington Village is doing their Oktoberfest tomorrow, WHILE I will be out at DucPond.  Those bastages!!!

Churchkey / Birch & Barley in D.C. has 5 cask ales, 50 taps, 500 bottles. Downstairs is (pricey) restaurant, but I think the food is awesome. Upstairs is super-long bar with more reasonable bar menu (burgers, etc.). Same beers on both floors. I'm up for hitting that place any time.

Pizza Paradiso has a great beer selection also (G-Town's selection is better than Dupont, but then you got to be in G-Town, which I dislike) and is the only place to get 3floyds. Also up any time people want to hit.

Sailing?  Hell, I've been too busy drinking.  Wait, that excuse doesn't work, does it?   Wink

It certainly can.   If the wind is up around 20 I need a pair of sober hands to hep out... but no experience required.

at 10 to 15 (typical Chesapeake) I can single hand with several beers and let the guests relax and have the hot bikini-clad crew serve drinks.  (it's byob btw... I don't provide the boob).

We went out in 20-30 kts last week.  the rule is when the boat hits 15 knots we put the drinks down and pay attention.

we don't realy do the whole booze-cruise thing unless we're anchored for the night.   But we do have fun.

but back to topic:

on the boat while moving it's usually a light beer.  While anchored it's tequila.

when it's cold on the deck with leaves falling it's a porter.      or a Manhattan and a cigar.

I've got several bottles of French red that go quite nicely with a cigar.

Hell, I would have cracked one open already if I didn't have to get up early tomorrow.

Roger is driving me out there in the morning, but I am riding the shotgun back.  We're leaving my place some time around 0730, so we can get out there and get some MV time in.   Evil
