For what it's worth, I think this should move to 'General'. It's tech-ey, but not a question/problem/etc., and I think most folks would get a kick out of it, and it'd get more traffic.

fascinating ... two pistons on each 'tree' act to pull on the connecting rod.  its gonna be tough
to get the lateral links to survive the bending moments.

use a two-piece rod.  gudgeon pin on the main one would have to be bigger.
