i don't think a slipper clutch takes away from proper throttle control. If anything, it makes focusing on proper throttle control easier, since you don't have to do the opposite of being smooth, by whacking the throttle open to downshift... going down one gear, no slipper = no problem. go down 2-3 gears, no slipper = huge hassle.
