Maybe you've missed some of the new "cruiser" bikes out there but many of them are very maneuverable, more so than you might think. No point in starting a debate over what's what because everyone here has a different interpretation but it's suffice to say that many of my riding buddies regularly log 20,000 miles a year and NOT commuting either.
I would like cleaner lines but I'll have to wait and see it in person but that exhaust is aweful, no way around that.
I've never seen a good looking or good sounding factory exhaust since I've gotten into motorcycling.
As far as maneuverability, we don't know how well it handles. or what it weighs, or what lean it can achieve, etc etc. Its not designed to handle like a superbike --> how silly would it be for a company to make all bikes ride the same?
This is a good move for Ducati because it can broaden the customer base, getting more potential customers through the door.

Speak for yourself man.
I still really dislike the new Monster.
Me too. Never did, never will. Now the Streetfighter, on the other hand, is a fine looking machine.
I'm not liking this new one much but I'll need to see it in person. I thought the last Buells looked somewhat good in all the magazine pictures. Then I saw them in real life.

i wasn't as much of a fan of the new monster, till i rode the new 1100. The thing is awesome. Needs a comfort seat and full systems. Would look into the desmoworld headlight spacers...but would likely spend my money on something like lightweight wheels, powdercoating parts, clutch bits

if someone put a gun to my head and told me to buy a cruiser, this would be it. it would have to be a big gun, tho.

One question: why?
Here's a good mod idea, cut it in half with a blow torch!
If Ducati needs to "branch out" they should make a four wheeler... I need one for my farm.

Yeah, but who wants to change timing belts and check valves on a mud-encrusted hulk twice a summer?

What an asinine question! Your advocating backwards thinking, stay in the box designs - the question should be
WHY NOT?
- The American market is large. The cruiser sales in America is proportionally very large. This will increase foot traffic in stores. This is an intelligent move. Its far better than continuing to put only high end superbikes and naked "urban-sport" air cooled motorcycles - these are great models, but as the saying goes: Putting all of ones eggs in a single basket is not what a swift egg-basket carrier would do.
I hope a true enduro / motard is being occasionally considered as well, to bring some more dirt-friendly riders into the equation.
And coming from you, who has proclaimed they will not buy a new motorcycle from the Ducati lineup, why even comment with such venom? Its easy to tear a house down, I dare you to try to build one.

Sorry I have opinion and no I don't build houses. As an employee of AMS do Jeff and Toni know you act like this on the internet? Peace out.

It's OK if he doesn't like my opinion, he doesn't have to.
It's just my opinion like every other post on this thread. No different. I'm still waiting for the Duc four wheeler!
Uhhh, and I want a chocolate shake!
