Will it pull a trailer of hay? Hmmm, that or power cruiser?

A cruiser? Really? Look at the riding position on that thing. This POS seems to be designed specifically for the "let's parade to the cafe/tavern and back" crowd. It looks built for short distances and straight lines. I can't doing any serious touring with it and it has all of Ducati's power and none of the handling (I presume judging by the long wheel base and heavy weight).

I think you might have spoken a bit soon about the handling. I have an Indiana, and the steering is more like a sportbike than a cruiser. It's surprisingly nimble.

I can't decide whether those quads, or the 916 with a sidecar make me more disappointed in the human race.

If funky designs in the moto industry are the only things that disappoint you in the human race, you're good to go.

Some of the arguments on here are hilarious. I mean you are all trying to rationalise this bike and its design. How rational a decision is it to buy a Ducati (of any form) ... and you all have them already.
Ducati have made many bikes I don't like and many more I would never own ... its no big deal.
The 'new' Monster I didn't like in photos, didn't mind it when I saw one in person, liked it less when I rode one. But I am wedded to the 'old-style'. Streetfighter I didn't like in photos, saw it differently in the 'flesh', attraction appreciated exponentially when I rode one.
Although I should have read this thread before posting in the 'what should they have done' thread. I don't mind the look, in fact ... it looks more like a Monster than the (current) Monster to me. But you need to ignore all that bulk up top/front.
As for the ride experience who the hell knows. I can guarantee that if you can 'really' ride you would be able to outride me on that bike regardless of what I am on so it is kinda irrelevant. 'Most' people, despite what they say do not corner hard and ride hard between corners ... this will probably be perfect for 'most' people.
I like it more than I thought I would.

More straight, sensible talk from down under!
Hey, you need to tell me how your scooter trip went with the Kreiga luggage on the Monster. Cuious minds want to know!

I'm thinking V-Max or B-King, not Harley.

did I mention the exhaust looks aweful?
I'll ride one to see for myself but I'm NOT selling my Harley or my S4R for it, I would however consider that for the new Multi.

My 1st impression was V-Max meets V-Rod !
Since it's a Ducati I have to give it the benefit of the doubt until I either see and ride it or get some 1st hand knowledge about it.

i don't like the exhaust on the SF either - they look similar to me too - but some perf pipes on there and its going to get a lot better
come take another demo on the multi with E to see how 2up is
