My heels hit her toes so maybe I had my foot pushed forward or pointed down or something.

JM

If your heels hit her toes, she needs to be up on the balls of her feet, too!  Her position should NEVER interfere with your riding position.  There have been a couple of times that I've done something that interferes with Stillie and it always scares the crap outta both of us.

Agreed, she should not prevent you from taking the form you usually do

I'll see about that.  I move from the balls of my feel to the center when I need to reach the controls, as I can't shift or brake from the balls of my feet.  I'll pay attention to when her feel come forward.  I think it's a comfort thing for her, so her knees aren't bent quite as much ~

If it's her comfort v. the safety of both rider and pillion, sorry, but comfort is secondary.  If it's too uncomfortable for her to ride with the balls of her feet on the pegs, perhaps a touring or sport touring bike would be better.  I've heard of pillions complaining about having to tolerate less comfort for safety's sake, and I've never had sympathy.

Put her on the back & instructed about the foot position.  She finds it MORE comfortable like that, so it's a win-win for us ~

My wife and I ride 2-up regularly... actually, I have her on the back almost more than I am alone on the bike.  Over the years, we have developed a little signal system to communicate. She tells me when she wants to go faster, and when she wants me to slow down.  All I can say is only by actually riding for years together have we been able to do this.  We are able to comfortably ride at a quicker pace 2-up than some guys I know riding single.  It is her confidence in me and my skills and my confidence in her as a pillion, that makes all of that possible.

Am I the only perv that thinks this sounds pornographic  Evil

On topic, frankly I don't think having a little chicken strip is a sign that there's "more" in the bike....

well yes....but there should be similarities...

both should be about the journey and not just the destination
the better the communication between the couple the better the enjoyment
men have a tendency to focus on numerical data (horsepower!) whilst women focus on the entire experience
