A Most Magnificent Monster
Guy Webster Collection

So I head off this morning from my home in Santa Paula with the intention of riding up to check out the motorcycle museum in Solvang. As I'm cruising through Ojai, an eclectic horde of bikes passes in the other direction...my curiosity piqued, I turn around and catch up with the tail end. At a light I ask who they were and where were they going. The rider says something about somebody-or-other's moto collection open house. I follow them back through Ojai, turning off a side street into a small industrial park...one unit appears to have a bunch of motos in the lot. We pull in and I check out the place. I am immediately overcome by the sight of dozens of classic Italian racing bikes! I cant post all of the photos here, but I provide you with a link to my Flickr account, and another for information on Guy Webster. Riders came and went all morning and the parking area was nearly as interesting as the collection itself.

I officially envy him.
He has 2 metrallas and a Velocette Thruxton.

Guy Webster opened up his place exclusively for West Coast DIMBY '09...
You may be burnin' shit back east, but we did this instead....

Don't have him bring it out on the "right" coast then.

Is having fun an East-West competition?
What's up with that?

I remember DIMBY 09 well........Guy's collection is amazing but what I though was funny was amongst all those Italian racing bikes he had a Bianchi bicycle that was a cheap Taiwainese model
He tried to pass it off as the real deal but I'm a huge bicycle nut & Bianchi afficianado.
More memoriable was the good times with great friends & the help of Stu & others when my breather decided to blow on the way back down the 33........I was lucky that it blew as I pulled into the 76 station & not when I was haulin' a$$ behind Derby
That could have been ugly.
I miss my Duc & it's mechanical woes.....new ZX10R is downright boring.......gas tank doesn't grow, valve guides are good, battery never dies & it runs the same everytime I ride it

Well.....ZX10R's generally don't require ownership of parts bikes.....
