exactly good to hear that things are relatively ok.  remember cars and bikes are all fixable and replaceable.

and yes good to hear you weren't on the bike at the time.

Yikes! Sorry to hear about your crash! Heal up and be thankful that you were not on the bike.

well her insurance is doing well so far. they are picking up the tab for 14 days for a rental car. should be enough time to get the other car assessed and paid out if totalled. They are also sending forms for covering my medical, etc.

gotta like that German system.  in the US I bet I would be fighting for everything.

Still  taking some stronger pain meds, and neck is stiff as hell. Going to try and go without brace for longer periods. but need to remember to turn slow... brace stopped that, but actually turned quick to yell at cat... DAMN cat... freaking hurt.

Thanks for all the replies.

You get what you pay for in the US. Full coverage with a quality reputable company and you will be taken care of very well. Half ass coverage with some on-line company and you won't get any assistance.

Glad you're up and about. Pursuing any type of legal damages?

Raux US insurance varies by state.  Some states don't even require it (they allow a bond).

I've been in 4 wrecks in my life - ALL the other drivers fault ( and all of them women go figure).  I had no issues with their ins when they had it.  One had none and my coverage handle it fine.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
