I replaced the lens and globe on mine and didn't have to "remove cluster etc etc."
Simple job really from memory. But I was advised to take a photo of the wire brace arrangement that holds the reflector in place to make it easier to put back together.

Well you could go the long way round like i did and crash into some one, smash the head light and get it replaced buy insurance. LOL
Oh buy the way don't expect this method to be quick. 5 weeks and waiting

Also you don't have to buy the whole headlight assembly. You can buy just the lens (but not from Ducati).

I purchased a new lense from BMW. It's the same lens as is in all of the R80 etc. It cost about $95. I'll look up the part number if your interested
