Hi guys, I got a pair of s2r1k forks and bought the
Matris F05R cartridge kits for the forks. but when I try to install them,
I face a big problem I notice the internals are not even long enough
to tighten up with the fork cap.

I will need to OVERLY stretch the top-out spring to maybe bolt them on.
Anyone has any idea???
or has anyone faced this problem before? or personally installed them before?

I will have pics to follow up

All help are greatly appreciated,
Eric

Those cartridges are not made for the S2R 1000 forks.  Embarrassed

thought they are for s4r? and they are the same forks except the Tin sliders?

Monstermash did the same with his s2r1k while back?

hi sent his forks to Jason at Department of Suspension

so I am thinking maybe someone knows a bit detail?

I doubt his cartridges was the F05R. His have the red adjusters and I think they were another model. Yours have gold adjusters, right? If so, I believe they are for S2R800, 620 and some other models.

I'm saying this after searching for Matris cartridges on CarpiMoto.com. Only hit is the F05R as mentioned - nothing other than steering dampers for the S2R1000. They might very well have offered something like 'Mash's cartridges earlier, but they were probably not the F05R.

I might be wrong, let's hope so....

Sorry, I mixed up the R with the S.

The R is not offered anymore. As far as I can tell, they were never made for the S2R100 - only S4R or similar.

Again, let's hope I'm wrong.... (

The "Bellisimoto" site does show the FO5R for the S2R/S4R. They even have pics of Monstermash's ride. Mm would be the one to talk to or contact Bellisimoto and see if they can help.(If you are in the states.) Please keep us informed, as I would like to do go this route if I ever win the lottery.

Wait...

You bought these from a vendor here, whom you contacted about the incorrect fitment, and "he has no idea" ?

nono, don't mean to stain bellissimoto,
bcuz for the fork cartridges are order directly from matris
so Randy only process the order, he does not know if they sent the wrong thing or not. and it's hard for him to see if it's the right or wrong one. therefore I was hoping someone has knowledge of this issue.

before I send it back for replacement.

heres the pics.

to get the cap to close you have to compress the spring put the spring spacer on and close the cap. At that point you have very little fork travel left.

Undecided

? with the fork tube fully bottomed out you still cant reach the rod, if your wondering that, even if you fight the top out spring.

i want there to be a good answer.  kind of stinks the vendor didn't know, but that's kind of the way low-volume items sometimes go.

to OP, if you are looking to "get it done", consider returning the cartridges, and sending forks to Traxxion for their cartridges, they'll do the install for you.

Im sure im just missing something. It cant be this bad that Eric has spent  so much time and money to get his forks done that this is the way its going to end.

The other option would be to find which Ducati forks those DO fit, grab those, and adjust triples if needed, assemble and go.
