Excuse me Sir, your bike is smokin.

« on: June 09, 2008, 01:30:58 PM »

Ok folks, after checking the weather forecast for the week, I see a big yellow sun and a high in the 80’s for Thursday.

Deep fried dogs and a frosty cold beverage on a warm Thursday night with 20-30 of your closest Ducatisti buds sound like a good idea?
If it does, then I’m putting a call out early to everyone in DESMO and the DMF for a joint meeting at Hiram’s in Fort Lee this Thursday, starting at 7pm.

In addition to the eats, it’s a great chance to meet the people behind the screen names, exchange cell numbers, and possibly find new people to ride with. Plus the chance to admire other people’s rides is always a good excuse to make the run.
Hell we might even get to meet the “usual suspects” when they’re not logging a 500 mile day at triple digit speeds.
(no really , I kid, I kid )

No excuses about it being too hot, or the bike being in pieces. Yes I know the ride over from NYC can suck, but gourmet dogs and great roads within 15 minutes from Hiram’s should make it worth your while if you decide to make a night of it.

There’s even a Starbucks and a gelato joint no more then 15 minutes away if you’d like to do the perfect Ducati “triple crown poser event. “
 Smiley

Hope you can all find the time to make it out this Thursday, Ill see you there.

No excuses, it's not like the local NYS dmv woulda been open for me to replace my lost license, I had no choice but to ride home. Besides, 250 miles out in the sticks, there are maybe a handful of po po's at the most. In the city, an island 13 x 3 miles, there are about million po po's. Not only that, every single po po in the metro area is looking to pull over bikes so it's a chance I'm not willing to take. Fried hot dogs or not.

I wish I could go, I'd like to meet up with some cool heads from here ( not have to pick from the lot over at Hooters on Route 22). Is Hiram's worth the trip? Where the hell is Fort Lee anyway, I will assume North Jersey by the GWB. If I don't have any ships (make the beast with two backsing Maersk) I will go. Anyone wanna head up with me from around my area? As in if anyone is from Morristown, Scotch Plains, or whatever other town are near mine (Westfield).

May join you guys if everyone is going. Meet you there and ride home w/ the LI crew. I`ll see if my frined wants to try again w/ his 748, hopefuly it doesn`t crap out while splitting lanes in the middle of the FDR again.

Hiram's is about a mile and a half from the GWB.

Follow that map and get directions from your location.

From Ft. Lee to Scotch Plains it may be easier to get home from the Lincoln, but it'd be almost impossible to go to Ft. Lee that way without knowing the area from that direction.  Get there via GWB. waytogo

Is it worth it?

It's a cheap hot dog joint right on a major road, we usually eat outside on picnic tables.  It's just a very, very casual get together that we decided to hit a bunch of times last year and it became a regular thing last summer.  It's a  little bit of a dive - but in a good way. Cool.

Frankly, it's the way most of us have met each other in the past 18 months.

Speaking of, anyone seen Christian [xtian8 from TOB] or Nerual lately?

I'll try to make it..  got to see what it's all about.
Unfortunately I have to ride to work and pay $30 to park.
Anyone know of anything cheaper near 50th & 8th [hell's kitchen]?
I usually get out around 7PM.

Those dogs better rock my world!

I currently don't know if any of garages listed in the link below is cheaper but maybe it's worth a try calling some of them and get some prices.  It's probably a good idea to mention motorcycle parking specifically.
