Recently I noticed that two of my computers (with different antivirus / webcheck) both recognize this site as a security threat?

Something changed?

Our new host...remember we have a new server...has anti hacking measures instituted that appear unusual to the anti virus programs. If you click on what the threat actually is...they don't know. Roll Eyes

The anti virus people need to update their thinking.

I can assure you the DMF is not a security risk.

Thanks for the info.  Apparently, I missed the info on the server changes.

DP works for google and is farming us for personal data. Sometimes my webcam turns on by itself, it can only mean BB is watching

No doubt in the future we will all be picked up for various crimes.

That's why work blocks you. Lame.

While that would be a solution if incorrect security messages annoy you...

THERE IS NO RISK.

There...I feel better  Grin

Also no messages from antivirus software you wouldn't have for the nonexistent risk that that DMF doesn't cause

I've learned a bunch about servers and hosting in the past couple of years.

I never knew that laziness in smtp configuration could get a server on a spam blacklist.

I never knew that a linux OS would cache memory for installed programs whether they needed it or not...just like windoze...leaving available memory dangerously low and response times ridiculously slow...

but most importantly I've learned that many systems admins just do things the way they've always done it even if it doesn't work.

We have an excellent host right now IMO. They have packages that work for a busy site like ours, and offer the flexibility to add on without server migration. Daryl has migrated us so many times now he was considering installing a zipper so he could just shake all the files from one to the other.

To everyone concerned about this I will contact our host and find out if they have any more info about the bogus warnings. In the meantime I'm not worried about the 'risk'.

that software (and nortons too) is bogus. i used it for years and it was a huge PITA, caused more trouble than it was worth. i have been using MS security essentials since it was released, and am extremely pleased with it.

edit: of course, if you like coolaid, than there is nothing to worry about..
