use the dye procedure, it's easy and eliminates any runs.  I'm famous for having runny spots after using rattle can.  15+ years in the South and still haven't conquered the art.  bang head

I used rattle-can truck bed liner.  It's durable and the texture is pretty nice too.  Over 20,000 miles and never had a problem with cracking, flaking, etc. Just sand the original surface a little, clean the dust off, and spray.
