hmm, I guess mine does that too.  Just tried it and that was the first time I noticed it, but I don't surf the DMF on it much.  Is it just the DMF that does it?

Advrider as well so far

I picked up what you were getting at too.

And then what I was "laying down" was that at least with my phone, when the battery dies I can change the battery instead of having to stay within arm's length of an electrical outlet.

(Oh, I almost forgot this... -->  [roll] )

Ill look at add on browsers.

For the browser, I went with Dolphin.

Other apps... I deleted the stock weather widget, downloaded the weather channel app and set that up as a widget.

A notepad app.  Everybody says good things about the GDocs app.  It syncs, blah blah blah.  I didn't really like it so I downloaded AK Notepad.  Works well for me.  Try 'em out and stick with whatever works for you.

Oh, and the Borat soundboard.  That's pretty important too.

Guess I wasn't clear.  When I said "welcome to multiple batteries" I meant it as a good thing.  For example when your battery dies you can change the battery instead of having to be within arms length of an electrical outlet.

I typed that as slowly as possible!

Launcher Pro

Chrome to phone is pretty cool too (get firefox plug in if you run ff on your cpu)

Every bike I've ever owned.

AppBrain App Market - way better than the stock app store
Astro file manager
Chrome to Phone
Google Sky Map
Ringdroid
Springpad
LauncherPro

eventually, you will root the phone, and there will be a whole other list of must have apps...

Well don't I feel like a dickhead.   ;D

I thought that was a battery life dig from an Apple fanboy.

Oops.

Somehow I deleted all my contacts on my Incredible. They were gone from my Gmail acct as well. Tried everything to find them, but no luck. Didn't feel like going to Verizon with one of my old phones, so I have been doing them 1x1.

No worries Bro!  Had a smile on the whole time.

What really concerns me is that Kopf lost his contacts.......

I wonder how long its going to take him to reprogram both of them!!??

Im more concerned how it happened. . .

i use google for email and contacts and i have about 600 contacts right now . . .

So Im on day 2.5 with this phone.  I like it, but the battery life is worse than my iphone 3g by far.

Definitely going to have to get the car dock.  That should solve the issue

some apps are a real drain on your battery. go to phone settings/about phone/battery use, and see what is using the most juice. if there are apps which are causing a drain, go into their settings and see if you can tweek how often they actively use power (network check in, etc...)

there are a lot of threads on this in the Android forums.

mostly it depends on how you use the phone, which apps are important to you, etc...

also, ever since i rooted my phone, i have gotten exceptional battery life. i attribute this to the removal of all the extra crap that i dont need/want.

also, with regards to your contacts...i also use gmail, and would be concerned about this. i think there are a few different ways to back your contacts up to the SD card.

the other way to do it would be to back your contacts up to your computer.
