Can one of you S4R owners take a picture of their rear shock absorber installation? I have one of these shocks but it does not look like it will fit in my S2R frame. Yes, I know about having to relocate the rear coil pack, but it does not look like the frame is wide enough. I was under the possibly incorrect impression that S2R and S4R frames were the same.

S2R and S4R frames are slightly different, but regardless of that, you "should" still be able to mount up the shock after relocating the coil.
...I mean, No...it will not fit, so sell it to me for the same $ you got it for.

Hey, it's not like that tube is holding up anything more important than my stupid arse.
I could always scallop the inside of the tube like I did to the main frame members of my FV (to accommodate the width of my stupid arse).

That is correct, but I think I remember someone getting one to fit, but it was the non-ohlins s4r shock, and it was REALLY close.

Thanks for the link to that post Dark! I now recall the bike...he used a Showa like mine...sent him an IM asking if he had any tips, etc. about the install.

When I installed the S4R Showa shock, I relocated the coil and removed the coil bracket from the frame. After doing so, there is about 1/2" clearance between the shock reservoir and the frame.
SA_S2R, I am about to install an Ohlins unit from an S4RS too! Should fit no problem. I'll let you know if I run into any obstacles.
Also, I already PM'd Orangelion of how I removed the coil bracket from the frame, but I'll post here to share with anyone else who needs to do the same.

Here are some pics of how I removed the ignition bracket from my S2R 800 frame in order to fit an S4R Showa shock.
1. Coil bracket still attached to frame
2. Used dremel with cutting disc to cut into the welds and remove the bracket. There were 3 welds on mine.
3. Coil bracket removed (I saved it just in case). You can see the 3 spots where the bracket was welded.
4. Used a 90 degree angle pneumatic grinder with an assortment of 2" 3M Roloc reconditioning discs to smooth out the welds. You should be able to use a flat file and/or sandpaper (it will just take longer).
5. Masked off the entire bike to get it ready for paint.
6. Used semi-gloss black engine enamel that I had lying around. I didn't care about color a perfect color match, since the carbon side panel covers it up. My main concern was rust protection.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any shots of the actual coil relocated. However, I zip tied it to the frame behind the left carbon side panel (not far at all from where it was originally, just out of the way of the shock). It should also be possible to mount it underneath the seat, but you might have to get some longer ignition wires to do so. If anyone wants a pic of the coil relocated, let me know.
