Sometimes I try the 180 degree approach - let's hope there
is no reason for the "broader"/boring market. If so, Ducati gets a punch in their face and a lesson in how not to change their best selling model.
I'm not holding my breath though, because the new line has been selling well (yes?) and it is a better bike. I think it doesn't come close to the old style cool'ness, but that doesn't really matter to Ducati and their next customer....
Since it is one of the most questionable changes, it should only be a matter of time before it's made.

I would be very surprised if people like DucStew and MotoCreations haven't already thought about it.
I had talked briefly with Mark about a tubular subframe replacement, but I believe he found not enough of a market to bother with it.
Radical Ducati in Spain had also discussed the possibility of creating a subframe replacement (to use their tank/seat combo), but it's the kind of project where very few people may adopt, so there's little incentive to build the jigs/tooling/etc to build only a handful (if that many). Someone needs to guinea pig it before it will really happen, i think.
I had also heard that a european company had been toying around with a sedici-themed carbon subframe/integrated seat, but that was over a year ago, and all has been quiet from them since.
I'm sure it will happen eventually through one of two of these channels, but I think it's a ways down the line.
