Hi all!
I'm helping my sister install the Rizoma license plate to her 2005 Ducati Monster 620. We need help understanding how to connect/wire the Rizoma license plate light. The OEM connector for the license plate light is not the same as the the connector for the Rizoma. Is there an adapter we should buy or is there splicing involved? I can take pictures if necessary. Thanks in advance!

So the connectors seen in the left of the left photo (bike) don't match up to the light on the rizoma unit? Or are there no connectors from the wire harness to that light? The little sub-harness that did the plate light and rear signals got changed at some point - I just can't recall which iteration is which

Nothing was changed to the bike, it's in it's original factory state. In the left picture that cable/light bulb was pulled from the Ducati license plate holder. I am wondering if I have to cut the bulb off of the OEM part and connect it to the harness from Rizoma for the Rizoma license plate to work... ![Huh?](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/huh.gif) Not quite sure what to do, whether cutting is involved something off or getting an adapter or connector. I'll take more pictures, perhaps it will help more. Thanks!

The two Rizoma wire ends, with the clear rubber jackets - you need to find/buy the corresponding male/female plug. Those two new plugs go on the cut and stripped wires from the stock bulb (black and yellow).

I'd just cut the stock wires, and connect as usual.
Those wires are not part of the main harness, so it's easy enough to replace or undo.

In the first pictures, what are the two connectors behind the bulb? Were those connected to the bulb originally? If so, you need to connect those wires to the new Rizoma harness.

exactly, look at how long the wires they give you on the new unit are, I would trace back the stock wires attached to the stock light to where they meet the main wiring harness, make sure there are no bullets there (though I doubt it). Otherwise just cut the stock lamp wires and put some male bullets on them and connect to the new unit.

Even if it's just a basic light - it's a great feeling to do it yourself, right? Well done ![waytogo](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/waytogo.gif) What's next ![Grin](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/grin.gif)
